Friends,
On the wrist today:
GP 2498
Cushion case
38 mm
Year of release circa 2003
I’ve always been fond of “cushion case”shaped watches. They are neither round nor square … and just seem to fit the wrist better.
The gullioche silver dial provides a 3-dimensional impression when viewed at various angles. In the sunlight, the dial enchants with each ray that dances across its surface.
This was a limited production run for GP with only 280 pieces or so made in the silver dial. The steel bracelet is well made and gives a macho appeal along with heft. On strap, the timepiece presents a more elegant impression with strong vintage vibes. I switch between bracelet and strap.
The chronograph pushers are rectangular and follow the curve of the case. The dial has hints of red with applied indices and only the 12 being the exception. Details like these add to the charm of this delightful timepiece.
What I love about neo-vintage pieces like this is that they convey a style that is reminiscent of days gone by and with all the benefits of modern day manufacturing methods. Rarity is always nice too and it’s not likely to ever be in the same room as another.
Happy weekend ahead☀️
As always I look forward to your comments and questions. ❤️
